Beehive Cottage

Beehive Cottage

There have been so many occasions, where customers have commented on how lovely our little shop in Barrow is, and how they wish they could live in it…even if only for a night! So we thought what a great idea!

Now the shop, as much as we love it and call it our home from home, is lacking a few of the essentials, such as a bed and fully equipped bathroom. So the hunt to find the perfect place to recreate Bumblebee began.

It took some time, but eventually the perfect place was discovered, right in the heart of our lovely neighbouring town Ulverston. The place needed a lot of work, structurally and then to be fully ‘Bumblebeed’.

We loved renovating the shop so much, we thought why not do the same for Beehive Cottage! Although it has turned out to be a bigger job than we thought!

The last couple of years have been, let’s say dusty! But what a transformation has already taken place. The work has been a real family affair, with all chipping in and becoming busy bees to get the work done. We were all under the close supervision of a brilliant builder Eric, who has really helped us achieve the characterful space, that will soon open it’s doors as Beehive Cottage.

So we’re not quite there yet, but keep checking back as we keep you up to date via our Blog, Facebook and Instagram of our progress.

Beehive Cottage will really be that Bumblebee at home experience. The cosy, romantic cottage will have two bedrooms, cute country kitchen, toasty wood burning stove and a gorgeous bathroom with views out over the beautiful, secluded garden.

We hope to add to the tourism of the area, highlighting our town of Barrow as a destination to visit, with our beautiful shores, fantastic wildlife and fantastic town history.
